The rainy season is on its heydays and definitely far from over but no idiots like us love the beach, sand, and salt water (no sun) on stormy days. We simply can’t wait for the sun to be up and smiling back on us. No more introductions needed. We’ve been here before and back. This is our third time on the island, the second under bad weather conditions, and my first time on the eastern side. This is Cagbalete Island. Read more…

The Pacific Recreation Kamp in Real, Quezon

Holy Week is one of the most observed holiday among the many Christian Holidays in the Philippines where Catholicism is the major religion. Non-working day starts on a Maundy Thursday until the Easter Sunday. Some prefer to stay at home, rest, and reflect while others take advantage of the 4-day long weekend to go out of town, escape from their usual routines and spend time with family and friends.

We have yet to recover from the budget spent from our recent Boracay trip so we have to resort to a minimal expense getaway but still have a taste of salt water on our lips and feel the warmth of the sunny day on our skin. (You may skip this boring part if you like and read more about the place) Read more…

Flanking Quezon Province are two large bodies of water with the vast Pacific Ocean on the east and Tayabas Bay on its west. Squeezed in between the ocean and sea are marvelous beaches sprawling in the coastal towns of the province, but I didn’t imagine a pristine white beach exist in Pagbilao, Quezon until I’ve been to Puting Buhangin Beach. Mauban, Quezon: Low Tide In Cagbalete Island

January 9, 2011 Leave a comment

Rocks and corals sitting under the purple sky sprung from the sea during the low tide in the afternoon. From afar, one can see the light in a factory somewhere in Mauban.

Changing tides reveal the rocks sculpted by the seas over time. The distant Mauban Power Plant illuminated by numerous lights seemed near.
