At the infancy of my wandering back in college, newbies like me had few less options when it comes to destinations. Confined with limited knowledge of destinations and traveling ideas, I was bound to nearby locations. Not far up north in a province called Zambales lies coastal destinations promising pristine beaches and offering a wide array of adventure awaiting the intrepid traveler. Mauban, Quezon: Bad Weather On Our First Cagbalete Island Vacation

Laguna was the farthest Luzon province I’ve reached down South until my eagerness and curiosity of the Quezon Province became a reality. Maps are marked, bags are packed, and we’re off to a small coastal town situated East of the province known as Mauban where we will leave the vehicles before we set our sights and sail (in our case, a big bangka with katigs) towards Island of Cagbalete. San Juan, La Union Is Surfing

February was almost over and derailing ourselves from the train of daily routine was on top of our minds. Later that week, we got back on the road because this month we’re not letting this month end without soaking in salt water. Everything was set, our bags were packed and we were on our way to the bus station. San Juan here we come.

Typhoon was brewing up north, and heavy clouds started towering the skies here in the east. Reports on local news said that CALABARZON was under signal no. 1, and rains are to be expected. There was nothing to do except to pay the bills. Suddenly, a road trip crossed my mind but I don’t have enough gas money to go very far, and the weather was unpredictable. I decided to go look for something new but spend a little as much as possible. And a small town in Rizal called Angono could be the perfect spot. Read more…
