Antipolo, Rizal

Tourist, devotees and locals from different status of society frequent the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish, more commonly known as Antipolo Church, asking blessing on their trip abroad or locally. Fresh purchased cars are also blessed in the vicinity, a service also offered by the Parish. Such Catholic traditions are common among Filipinos.

Going to the Antipolo City from Quezon City, Pasig, or Marikina is not a hassle because big hi-ways like Ortigas Extension and Sumulong Highway lead to the town, however, the tight and one way roads of the town proper is quite confusing, so might as well ask directions to locals because Antipolo bayan’s one way roads change from time to time.

I’d prefer passing by the zigzag roads of Sumulong Highway passing by the magnificent view of Metro Manila. On the way, road side bars and restaurants boast of the city and Laguna de Bay view while dining and drinking. Padi’s Point Antipolo Branch, Cloud 9, Leonardo’s (their sisig made my dining and the place unforgettable) are some of the popular sites, but there are lots to choose from.
